About ME
Hello! My name is Sydney Howard, and I'm a student at Carnegie Mellon University who is majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in human-computer interaction. I expect to graduate in May 2020. I currently work in a laboratory at CMU that focuses on the application of machine learning with engineering.
I am highly interested in seeing the fusion of these three fields because I believe when all of those skillsets are combined, a company has the ability to design and produce the optimal device. Mechanical engineering addresses the core fundamentals of the product; human computer interaction creates the best user experience possible; machine learning opens a whole universe of possibilities of how to optimize the mechanics as well as creating new abilities for the product.
When I'm not studying, I'm probably exercising at the gym, hiking, reading, or spending time with friends and family.
